The State of Michigan GIS Office will highlight the latest geospatial initiatives that are on-going or that are being launched in 2025. The presentation will highlight the formation and goals of the new Michigan GIS Advisory Group. Other highlights will include statewide coordination on geospatial data initiatives such as LiDAR, hydrography, addressing, and updates about the GIS strategic plan.

MiSAIL and Nearmap Use for Crash Analytics

In coordination with MDOT, DTMB is the recipient of a National Highway Transportation Safety Administration grant that funds high resolution imagery by Nearmap. The imagery is available within 2-4 weeks of acquisition. MDOT utilizes the imagery for roadway crash analytics. This presentation will include information about MDOT's use of the MiSAIL program imagery resources.

The history of the school district layer in the MGF, development of county datasets, misalignment concerns between the two, and the formation of the School District Boundary Focus Group will be discussed, along with the methodology for making boundary corrections and plans for future work.
